I love sauce.
And dressing is the sauce that makes raw vegetables in a bowl worth eating.
Dressings should be thick, flavorful, and creamy. And they should make all the other salad components come together into a cozy little party.
So when I put together this recipe for my Spicy Chicken Bacon Salad, it had to be topped with something bangin’.
Sweet and Tangy Honey Mustard Dressing – you never disappoint.
I love the combination of stone ground and dijon mustard in this recipe. And the apple cider vinegar gives it the perfect tangy punch that this salad needed.
You could technically make this honey mustard dressing without the garlic and paprika. But I think it really bumps up the flavor and makes it even more versatile.
AKA – not only does this make an awesome dressing for savory salads, but it can also be used for a marinade for chicken.
In our house, leftover dressing never goes to waste. Enjoy, my friends!
Honey Mustard Dressing Recipe
- 3 tbsp organic dijon mustard*
- 3 tbsp organic stone ground mustard
- 1/3 cup raw local honey
- 1 clove organic garlic
- 1/4 tsp paprika
- 2 tbsp organic apple cider vinegar
- 6 tbsp organic extra virgin olive oil
- a pinch of salt and pepper
Blend all ingredients except for the oil in a food processor until well combined. Add the oil and blend again until well combined, but not too thick.
Drizzle over your favorite salad or use as a marinade for chicken! Store in the fridge in an air tight container for up to a week.
*I prefer a mild dijon mustard for most recipes. Whole Foods and Publix brands have proven to work great!
