Once upon a time, I hated ranch dressing. Salads weren’t really my thing as a kid, and the idea of dipping pizza in ranch dressing sounded sinful.
I have since been enlightened, obviously.
Ranch dressing is now a staple in our house, and you can almost always find a jar of it in the fridge. And I’m not talking about the store-bought stuff with a hundred weird ingredients. I’m talking creamy, flavorful, homemade ranch.
The best part is, it takes me about 2 minutes to whip up. And it’s DAIRY-FREE. Yes my vegan friends, you can now enjoy one of the yummiest sauces on the planet.
DITCH THE MIX
A few months ago I shared my Homemade Ranch Mix Recipe. Along with that I included a little breakdown of the nastiness you’ll find in store-bought mix. And there’s even more junk in bottled ranch.
So do yourself a favor and make a big ole jar of my Homemade Ranch Mix. You can sprinkle it on potatoes, chicken, veggies. And of course you use it to make ranch dressing! I consider it a slightly peppery ranch, with bold dill flavor and of course, a little hint of garlic.
What makes it creamy without containing dairy is the combination of Just Mayo & almond milk. Unsweetened original almond milk is really versatile because its pretty neutral. I had to give up dairy for the first few months of Leon’s life because he was allergic & was reacting to my breast milk when I ate dairy. So I learned to use almond milk in many recipes and could never tell the difference! It was a life saver for me.
If you’re not yet a believer, mix up a batch of this dairy-free ranch dressing. I guarantee that you’ll be making a second batch in no time!
